Hey @Claytonious are you on gitter? |
No, but I can be. Want to chat? |
Sure, it might help to be a bit more interactive. If you have the time that is... |

Hey @Claytonious I'm trying to reproduce this on Unity 5.5 at the moment. And i seem to be getting much further than you are. Silly question, but I just wanted to be sure, is that the entirety of your |
Also, I'm hearing of some scenarios where some plugin interactions are not working out well together. Was this test in a blank repo? |
It also happens on Unity 2017.1.0f1. A new (empty) project, only with the github plugin v0.12-alpha (b9289f4), crashed with the message reported on this issue. |
@StanleyGoldman this and #76 are two different problems, tested on two different machines; I am responsible to make it work for a team with Windows desktops and Macbooks. #60 is the issue I had on the mac, and it closes the Unity editor before the point #76 could manifest. |
Ah @zed9h I understand now. Thanks. |
This is the same crash that we were seeing during initialization. Suspect it's a mono/unity bug somewhere, given that it's during a GC cycle. We need to open an issue with Unity with a repro, perhaps with 2017.1 as it seems to trigger it more often. |
Yes, it was. |
For what it is worth, I am seeing something similar. I just downloaded the latest version, Amulet of Yendor with extra bits. I get the following error when I try to authenticate github through unity
And I get the Fatal Error above listed by Claytonious whenever I try to stop playing a scene. It has also made the rest of the editor unresponsive, unfortunately, and I am unable to do anything in my project at all. I'm trying to figure out how to uninstall it, but I may need to delete the project and start from a backup. Let me know if this seems different enough that you would like me to file a separate bug. Also, I am on Unity 5.6.1f1 EDIT: figured out how to uninstall. Again, let me know if you need a separate bug. |
Hey @cdodge89 thanks for the input. Sorry we've been MIA for a bit as the team has been on vacations. We will get some information for this soon. |
Also having this issue, not sure how to uninstall github-for-unity so that I can work on my project again.... |
Hey @wmak sorry that you are having trouble. If you'd like to remove it, close Unity and delete the plugin from your project. You can find it at |
Hey! Thanks for the speedy response. I tried that but I was still getting the Error. It's fine my project was small anyways, just restarted. |
We can reproduce the error! |
Hey ! I know you said that at this time, it may have some issues with the 2017.2 version, but I got the same message here. It happen at the start of Unity when a project got the plug-in. |
Imported v0.12 alpha into a project in Unity 5.6.1p4 on Mac OS X 10.12.5, then selected GitHub/Window from the main menu. This popped up:
Then the entire editor became unresponsive and had to be force closed.
Correction: The ~/.local/share/GitHubUnity/github-unity.log was not generated at all - there's still an old one on my system from earlier versions of this plugin.
