Unknown character on Copy/Paste operations #373
Comments
I'm surprised, it could be a special character that you put in all your passwords, can you do some more tests and report here? |
Ha! I've found one. lol At the beginning of this sequence of letters, there's an invisible character that every now and then insists to haunt and annoy me. jjR7VTap This online tool tells me the character is The linux command cat -A shows And this tool says "Character not present in GSM charset, forces to use Unicode encoding" |
More words, with the same characters: lsdvd Always the same, that's the little prick. What would it be? |
I advise you change the preferences to show white spaces to get rid of this problem |
Interesting option, but it does not solve the detection of the characters in this case: ffmpeg -i True The option will display a little dot before the word True, but there are 2 invisible characters with the space. |
Possibly related issue: #233 |
Hello mates, I do a lot of note-take and CherryTree is my choice of software, the best and most functional available of all and I plan to use it for many years to come.
However, it's not the best idea to keep passwords and terminal commands stored on CherryTree, because when you copy a word from it, for example a password, an invisible character comes with it, making the password wrong or invalid. If I insist copying it from CherryTree trusting it is safe, after 3 attempts my Login will be blocked. A terrible damned invisible character that you don't know where it is on a large terminal command you've just wrote, and you'll have to do it all over again.
Does somebody know what is happening to me and a way to workaround this?
Thank you for your attention.
