Gradle 6.8: Could not write XML test results #15890
Comments
@huehnerlady Hi! If you could provide a reproducer project, that would be a lot of help. If you can't reduce your project into a reproducer, could you share the generated XML result file for 6.7? We might be able to glean what's going on from that. |
@big-guy thank you for your quick answer I created a sample project You can see the error message in the github action |
#15892 has been merged, closing |
@ljacomet super thank you so much for fixing this quickly. Do you have an idea when 6.8.1 will be released? And did you find out which plugin/dependency the reason is to not throw that excepton? |
We hope to have 6.8.1 out today 🤞 I do not think a culprit was identified. |
Since the upgrade to Gradle wrapper 6.8 we have the problem that in our kotlin project(junit 5) gradle does not seem to be able to write test results into the files anymore.
With a different groovy project (junit 4) it is all fine.
I am not sure what the actual reason is, but maybe the stack trace below helps?
Expected Behavior
generating test results (like with 6.7):
Current Behavior
Context
I need to revert to gradle 6.7 now unless there is a workaround / known fix?
Steps to Reproduce
If neccessary I could try and get a sample project together
