Laravel PHP Framework

Build Status Total Downloads Latest Stable Version Latest Unstable Version License

Laravel is a web application framework with expressive, elegant syntax. We believe development must be an enjoyable, creative experience to be truly fulfilling. Laravel attempts to take the pain out of development by easing common tasks used in the majority of web projects, such as authentication, routing, sessions, queueing, and caching.

Laravel is accessible, yet powerful, providing tools needed for large, robust applications. A superb inversion of control container, expressive migration system, and tightly integrated unit testing support give you the tools you need to build any application with which you are tasked.

Official Documentation

Documentation for the framework can be found on the Laravel website.

Installation

  1. To run this on your system, clone the repository, or download the .zip file (if you download the zip file, remove the "-master" string).
  2. Open the directory where the files have been downloaded, and rename .env.example to .env.
  3. From the root, open a Command Prompt/Terminal window and execute the command php artisan key:generate.
  4. Copy the created key (format should be [base64:]). Copy everything in [].
  5. Locate the .env file in the root. On the line that looks like this: APP_KEY=SomeRandomString, paste the generated key. It should look like this: APP_KEY=base64:<randomString>.
  6. Save file (as .env)
  7. If everything is done properly, when you run php artisan serve from the root, you should get a message that the built-in Laravel web server has started at 'http://localhost:8000'.
