Hi Greg,

Very nice. As I plan to read the rest on the train, would it be possible to have a link for the pdf or a 1-page HTML?

Thanks,
Laurent

  • PDF: Unfortunately I can't get scribble --pdf to work on OSX with BasicTeX; it complains it can't find "stabular.sty". I also tried on Linux (using an Amazon EC2 instance) and it gets farther, but I'm getting errors re missing \begin. I'd prefer to avoid a deep dive into TeX just to make a PDF. o_O
  • Single HTML: I'll take a look at this, but need to work on some other things first. Meanwhile do you have any "grab a web site to read it later" app?

I'm sorry I don't have a quick fix for this.

Ah never mind, don't bother taking too much time with this.

Thanks anyway,
Laurent

I did (finally!) at least add the all-in-one HTML file: http://www.greghendershott.com/fear-of-macros/all.html

Great, thanks!
Did you make any content update since then?

Cheers,
Laurent

Just some minor edits in response to comments from various folks here

It might be useful to (a) add the tool chain to create all.html to your update process and (b) add a link to all.html to (at least) the front page of the divided version.

I have created a PDF version quickly. It's not perfect, yet, but does what you want.

...and I just noticed this dates back to 2012. :) Hope it's still of interest. The PDF version contains HEAD, not the 2012 version.

@greghendershott are you interested in a pull request to generate the pdf? however, you have macos. I can only confirm this works on Linux using texlive.

@pmatos Thanks for offering. There already exists #22 and #23 from @jsmaniac.

I feel badly those sat un-merged. All I can say is that they came in during a period when I was working full-time with Clojure, and I remembered PDF-generation on macOS hadn't worked well for me before. I just didn't have the time/energy to sort it out and commit to it as an ongoing deliverable.

Even now, when I am (happily) actively working with Racket again, I have a lot else on my plate.

I guess what I am trying to say is... I am a lazy, bad person.

@greghendershott Ah, fair enough. No problem. Then I guess merging #22 and #23 is all that's needed to close this one. :)
