2024-16-01 Meeting Agenda

Prework to prep for meeting

  • None for this week. Welcome back!!
  • Design team meetings Sunday's
  • UXR team meetings on Wednesday
  • Dev team meetings on Wednesday's at 7pm - will be taking poll

Objectives for Civic Tech Jobs in 2024

  • Launch CTJ MVP
    • Our MVP will consist of a dynamic login page which will let users login into our site and update their project openings [users coming from onboarding]. We decided that Hack for LA projects will receive login credentials rather than individual users. However users looking for new roles will need to create a login. Our MVP will also consist of a Qualifier Page which includes the Skills Matrix for users to complete based on the Community of Practice they are a part of example: If Product Management community of practice is selected, then product management skills are shown. After Skills Matrix is completed by user, the user will be shown a search page with ALL of Hack for LA's openings.

So far:

  • Design has completed login designs and Dev has set it up on our test site.
  • Dev has been in conversations around data management with projects similar to ours (VRMs, People Depot, Tables)
  • Design team working on iterations of Skills Matrix page (user flow)

Need to do:

  • Figure out how many skills we want to ask users to rate themselves on the Skills Matrix
  • UXR doing research around best approach for Skills Matrix

Objectives for this month

  • Getting back into flow as a team
  • Recruiting - dev support, AWS advisor or skilled person
  • Recruiting for design lead - design team support
  • PM team?
  • Onboarding - documentation

New Items

  • Updates from Bonnie regarding the question on pivoting on the stack Ava built
    - Languages used : React (front-end) [keeping], Web Pack for building (team wants to use Vite), Django for backend (backend has not been built, want to use Node.JS).
    - Bonnie's response: No to node, we need to use Django because CTJ will be connecting with another backend utilizing Django (People Depot), also we have Django experts at Hack for LA, but not Node, so would be tougher to mitigate challenges. She would like for us to provide a reasoning for using Vite? Need to ensure that we meet organizational standards.
  • Carry over Items to next meeting that don't get addressed
