Hi @hangy,
I'd like to change the get_fileid function so that the language specific behaviour is configurable in Config.pm.
For German, would it make sense to also turn off lowercasing? e.g. have Äpfel -> Äpfel? One thing we could do in taxonomies is to automatically make äpfel a synonym of Äpfel.
