210724-04 - debian bullseye and ubuntu focal images for intel chromebooks: mbr & uefi, 32 & 64 bit userland
- debian bullseye and ubuntu focal images for intel chromebooks
- there is nothing really chromebook specific about those images, so the chance is very high that they will also just work well on regular intel systems with mbr or uefi boot
- versions for legacy firmware with mbr boot and for uefi firmware for uefi boot (for installing the firmware see https://mrchromebox.tech/)
- ubuntu focal has 64 bit userland and for debian bullseye there are 32 & 64 bit userland images available - the 32bit userland version is recommended for chromebooks with only 2gb of ram as it uses less ram than the 64 bit version (64bit uses about 1/3 to 1/2 more ram than 32 bit)
- the regular debian/ubuntu kernel is used
- the debian bullseye images are based on the current rc state
- how well audio, wifi and suspend/resume will work might depend a bit on the actual hardware, but in most cases it should just work
