Welcome to the Cardinal wiki! Cardinal is a hobbyist operating system inspired by Plan9 written in C. It attempts to follow the idea of 'Everything is a filesystem' to make manipulating devices as simple as file tree manipulation.
Cardinal was started as a means to learn about systems programming and to understand how operating systems worked, but has since evolved into an attempt to design a grand consistent system that isn't plagued by a need to maintain support for outdated designs for legacy support reasons.
