What Is HPB

Innovation

HPB adopts a brand-new blockchain software and hardware framework and combines high-performance blockchain open source hardware (BOE) and software so as to achieve the performance expansion of blockchain distributed applications, high TPS and low latency while maintaining security and decentralization. The HPB consensus algorithm introduces a two-tier election mechanism to verify transaction in order to strike a balance between the electoral system and invitation system.

Open Source Public Chain

HPB is an open source public chain in which the public has the freedom to call its smart contracts, contribute data and utilize the public chain platform. The HPB is dedicated to building a DApp ecosystem that is widely acknowledged and adopted in the world, which is deeply integrated with the industry to meet actual business demand in the real world.

Blockchain Special Hardware - Blockchain Offload Engine (BOE)

Blockchain offload engine (BOE) is independently developed by HPB, leading blockchain technology to wider application and redefining the technical requirement in blockchain industry. The HPB node network improves the transactional processing speed in blockchain by using BOE hardwares and exclusive high-specification servers. The seamless integration between BOE hardware design and blockchain technology greatly enhances the blockchain performance and its safety as well.

HPB Node Distribution and Consensus Algorithm

BOE hardware constitutes the cornerstone of HPB node network and nodes are chosen by community voting or invitation from HPB Foundation. Of all the nodes, 70% are voted, 24% are invited (including from non-profit organizations, NGOs and Dapps developers, etc.) and 6% are maintained by the Foundation. HPB adopts a dynamic consensus algorithm that takes different variables into account when nodes alternate. The node network is initially expected to run on 150 BOE nodes for generating blocks and verifying transactions.

Node revenues

Node revenues include 2 part

1/3 Part: Elected BOE node: Revenue is allocated based on vote proportion in voting; Invited node: There is no such revenue distribution for invited node since it cannot participate in the voting.

2/3 Part: All BOE nodes: 35% of the revenue is allocated for high-performance nodes responsible for generating block and the rest 65% is equally divided by all other candidate nodes.
