Mortal Kombat Unchained after 0.7 #1376

What phone do you have? Sry for offtop, just wondering what specs i should have to run games fullspeed. |
Galaxy tab 2 7.0, the game is soo unplayable due to the flickers and the graphical glitches. |
The ghost thingy is gone now, the texcacheRevert the secondary texture cache fixed it, only the flickering and the black polygon remains |
Hmm, it shouldn't be possible that my change fixed that if it existed before the secondary cache, but okay. -[Unknown] |
It also fixed the hangups in persona and bleach |
it apears to be shaders problem cause where there isn't any shadows the game becomes normal here is a part of the log 45:10:045 ffst_thread E[HLE]: HLE\sceAtrac.cpp:281 UNIMPL sceAtracAddStreamData(12, 00000000) |
This game would almost be perfectly playable if not for the flickering chracters/movements that hurt the eyes when staring at the screen for extended periods of time. Even the broken shadows aren't as much of an eyesore as the pervasive flickering. It runs at full speed (on the PC), it saves correctly to the emulated memory stick, and the game modes work as intended. The problem is still present in the latest git revision (v0.7.6-513) |
In case you're wondering how it looks like exactly, here's a short ~30 second youtube video I posted showing the problem. FPS/VPS is slower and audio is garbled thanks to FRAPS but otherwise it runs beautifully. |
Wow, that's really weird stuff indeed. |
this how the game looks on android now and here is the log http://pastebin.com/5tHQdPp7 |
I wonder if changing the emulated GPU speed helps? This flickering is with buffered rendering off, right? It doesn't look quite so bad with it on? -[Unknown] |
when you start the game with buffered on, there is ghosting and invisible models and black polygons as shadows, when there is no shadows at all, the flickering stops and the ghosting is gone with and without buffered rendering. |
On Windows, the flickering is with buffered rendering on. Turning off buffered rendering makes things even worse, as can be seen from this youtube video taken from git revision 0.7.6-539. Notice that the whole screen flickers, instead of just the characters. A screenshot doesn't suffice which is why a video had to be captured. (My earlier posted video was with buffered rendering ON) Buffered rendering OFF:- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ePSkQsSFJA Oh and here's a log if it'd help, for Windows:- (It's rather massive at 21.0MB for just a few minutes of gameplay, so I used 7zip on it, had to use notepad++ to view it, else it took ages to load up in basic Notepad) |
Just some good news and a little update for this issue. The flickering effect for character movement in Mortal Kombat has now been fixed (somehow?) since git revision v0.7.6-1508-g4bb9e32. The last build to have the problem is v0.7.6-1500-g1fe20cb, which means one of the following commits by @hrydgard is responsible for fixing it:- The only problem left remaining for this game in the graphical department is the blocky, inaccurate character shadows:- Thanks for the fix @hrydgard and thanks to NGboo from the ppsspp.org forums for being the first one to report it for me to verify it and do a traceback. |
Pretty sure it's 1504. Great :) Fixing shadows may be trickier. Render to texture issues are often hard to debug. |
Here's some more good news and another update that may interest some of you who're still interested in the game's progress with PPSSPP. Apparently the previously broken shadows now render much more accurately since v0.8.1-532-g3022a02 ! The last build to have the boxy shadows is v0.8.1-530-g79470e0 So the change in v0.8.1-531-g4c913c0 did help out some games after all. Thanks @hrydgard |
This one can be closed .Issue resovled in latest build . |
with the version 0.6 no graphical issues where there but since 0.7,
with buffered render there is like a ghost with each char
and without buffered rendering , the screen flickers so fast which is soo unplayable
