Hi :) great idea to write this article. In https://icyphox.sh/blog/irc-for-dms you mention, that "there’s always a delay of give or take 5 to 10 seconds" - with the new rust core and in a good network, I rather made the experience that the delay is reduced to about 2 seconds. Maybe try out some development builds?

Sure! I'll try out some of the dev builds. Just to be clear, the Rust core is for the desktop client, yeah? (I've only tried the Android client)

The rust core is the core library that does all the imap/smtp sockets, database stuff, encryption... and is used on all platforms (ios, android, desktop). On android the version with rust core aren't in the google playstore yet, the best way to get one is by using a recent release from github. Eg: https://github.com/deltachat/deltachat-android/releases/tag/preview-v0.940.2
