fatal: 'github.com/imathis/octopress.git' does not appear to be a git repository

Hi

I've been trying to update Octopress as given on octopress docs, and I've run into this error.

akshay@akshay:~/octopress$ git pull octopress master
fatal: 'github.com/imathis/octopress.git' does not appear to be a git repository
fatal: Could not read from remote repository.

Please make sure you have the correct access rights
and the repository exists.

and the output of "git remote -v" is

octopress github.com/imathis/octopress.git (fetch)
octopress github.com/imathis/octopress.git (push)
origin git://github.com/imathis/octopress.git (fetch)
origin git://github.com/imathis/octopress.git (push)

You need the git:// before github.com. Did the docs not include it?

such as:
