The update procedure doesn't work for me - I get a message my docker containers are up to date (while latest update was 8 days ago).

Worth noting that if you use a config file, I got the following error when I updated. Had to remove the following line "reverseGeocoding": {
"enabled": true,
- "citiesFileOverride": "cities500"
} |

Oh...My...God... You've killed the game. I wish you had released this update one day earlier (before I started raising up the concurrency settings in 1.88.2, which killed my nvme SSD 😢 ), but I forgive you, given the performance of this release 😄 . |

I don't know if this is a performance issue or something wrong with my setup. I have just updated to the new version and somehow it does not work as the previous version. For example: In the previous version, when i uploaded photos containing new faces, i navigated explore-->people-->view all and when i scrolled down to the bottom, i saw all the new faces (without names). I selected all the new faces, the hit merge and all the new merged faces were assigned the name. With this release, this is not the case. For this release, i have to: Has anyone else experienced this change in workflow? Is it to be expected? I have installed immich using the docker-compose example provided with the only change being that i am not using docker volumes but bind volumes. |

FWIW, I had to update my postgres from 11 to 15 and there are a couple things to know:
These last two updates, even though breaking, were great! Much lower resources and feels faster too. |

v1.89.0
Highlights
Welcome to release
v1.89.0
of Immich. This release focuses on bug fixes and quality improvements for the server, web, and mobile client. Some of the highlights include:Reverse Geocoding Rewrite
When we first implemented reverse-geocoding, we picked a semi-popular library to handle it for us. However, we have run into quite a few issues. Like this, this, this, this, and plenty more. For better or for worse, it was easier to rewrite the implementation from the ground up, as part of the Immich core codebase. The new implementation matches the accuracy of the previous implementation but with multiple improvements. We plan to increase accuracy further in the future. Some of the changes include:
.reverse-geocoding-dump/
folder and internet connectivity requirement!)Before
After
Warning
If you are running your own Postgres database (not the one in our default docker-compose) and created the immich user yourself, you may need to enable the required extensions as the database superuser. You can do this by running the following two queries under the context of the immich database. This will only need to be run once.
And as always, bugs are fixed, and many other improvements also come with this release.
