Describe the bug
When using the simplified mode to search in the sidebar, some characters like the ampersand are not searchable.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Import this & that as text
  2. Search for e.g. this & or simply & in the annotation sidebar
  3. No matches

Expected behavior
In the simplified mode, characters that needs escaping (like \&) should be escaped automatically.

Please complete the following information:

  • Version and build ID: 22.3
