As a systems integrator, I offer additional options on every quote to my clients. This is for a number of reasons which depend on the hardware they are purchasing.

Example 1: Access Control Systems
The option I would offer for these systems would be either a Hosted or Managed monthly recurring charge. Either option the hardware will communicate with the cloud but a Managed option would cost a little more because my company would handle the data entry.

Example 2: Service Agreements
We offer Service Agreements with all our sales. This would add a recurring monthly charge to the contract which would cover the hardware and services we offer.

Example 3: Server & Storage
When designing surveillance systems, we try to anticipate future expansions but sometimes the client wants the cheapest solution. In these situations their quote would have their base server option but with an option to upgrade to a stronger server or a larger storage capacity for $X more. This could be seen as a Good, Better, Best option on hardware specs.

I would like to be able to display the Good, Better, Best options at the bottom of the quote, or even better as a subset option on the line item. As for the Hosting and Service Agreement options, these options I tend to put in the terms and conditions contract. The client would have to sign the contract and declare which hosting option they want and if they opt for the Service Plan or decline the additional protection (as its own option). Just like when you rent a car and they ask if you want to return the car without topping off the fuel and if you would like the insurance.

Let me know if you need any additional information and thank you.

I am hoping that our next version of subscriptions/payment links may fit this use case.

With this next version, you can have a set group of products, and then allow the client to opt into additional recurring/one time products and have them proceed through the checkout.

I'll update here when we have some additional news on this.

@jonberryman

We are close to release on this one, hopefully in a week or so, i'll update here.

We don't have a feature roadmap as yet. But if you keep an eye on the open PR's this may give an indication of features that are actively being worked on by the team and are close to release.

In this particular case #9280
