chrome 24.0.1312.56
ubuntu 12.04.2

example: just type ls? in a new notebook. There will be no scrollbar afterwards in either the main view, nor the help tooltip.

This is not the case in Chrome 25 on Debian Sid. There, the scrollbar temporarily disappears but comes back.

TLDR: You can close the bug. Things are now working.

I think this issue can probably be safely closed. I can no longer re-create what used to happen each and every time (as witnessed by @ivanov ). I had a ton of windows and engines open at the time running on my laptop, so it wouldn't surprise me if I was running into memory limitation issues or other browser related flakiness related from multiple days of opening notebooks. I'll be sure to reopen, or refile a new bug, if the error creeps up in the future. I'll also be sure to capture the ipython version as well (for the record, I haven't upgraded ipython since the report of this bug, so the issue I was seeing was from 0.13.1, as pulled from pypi).

Other users have seen this as well, so I would rather leave this open...

I see this problem as well on
chrome Version 26.0.1410.63
ubuntu 12.04.2
ipython 1.0.dev (last entry in "git log" is dated "Mon Apr 22 15:29:27 2013 -0700")

I see this too,

chrome Version 26.0.1410.63
ubuntu 12.04
ipython commit 4e6eab9 ( 0.13.x / 0.13.2.rc1)

Today I updated my ipython install to the latest git version (last entry "Sat May 11 23:28:44 2013 -0700", commit dfc7609) and noticed the problem is resolved.

@Fitze does upgrading resolve this issue on your machine as well?

By trying the ls? as mentioned above, it seems the issue is not resolved for me. The scrollbar still disappears once the help window pops up, and remains gone after I close/minimize the help window.

chrome Version 26.0.1410.63
ubuntu 12.04

ipython:
commit d7f1ab1
Date: Mon May 13 21:14:15 2013 -0700

Just checking in, can anyone reproduce this with current Chrome + IPython master?
