I've started updating the install doc, and I just have one question before I push:

what's the pexpect situation? Does the inclusion of pexpect in IPython.external mean it should just be removed from the dependencies list?

optional dependency: we'll use the system one if it's around, but
carry our own just to make life easier.

fix pushed, and updated gh-pages dev docs as well. It should be fairly accurate now, as far as I know.
