「オープンソースへの貢献に関する生きた歴史的な文書」と訳しましたが、もっと良い訳はないでしょうか。。

「Patience is always appreciated.」は直訳すると「忍耐は常に必要です。」となりますが日本語として不自然に感じたこと・無くても意味は通じる事から、省略しました。

「お待たせしてすみません」とか「ご理解に感謝いたします」とかくらいの意味かなと思いますが、なくてもいいと思います。
