On my try to generate an index.html file from a index.adoc file, I had to disable index rendering with the render.index=false configuration. In this case, the index.ftl template file is properly ignored and the index.html is rendered from the asciicdoc file. But, if there is no index.adoc and no other index.* file, still an index.html is rendered from the index.ftl.

I've just tried to replicate this scenario with a new site I'm working on but the index.html file isn't rendered. The only thing I can think of is that the index.html your seeing was generated from a previous bake?

Sorry, I can not reproduce, too.
