03. Category naming task
Next, subjects were instructed to complete a category naming task, also known as a semantic verbal fluency task (60 seconds - e.g. “Category: ANIMALS. Name all the animals you can think of as quickly as possible before the time elapses below.”). This task helps to monitor cognitive decline through automated counting of the number of animals named not counting repetitions, the number of repetition or semantic errors. Subjects were not able to stop the timer early and had to speak for the entire 60 seconds.
