09. Confrontational naming task

Instructions

Next, subjects were instructed to complete the confrontational naming task (25 images, 10 seconds each). In this task, various images are displayed to the subject and the subject is asked to name the image - for example, an image that looks like a mushroom may be displayed and the subject should say the word “mushroom.” In this task, the number of correctly identified words is counted to measure the memory of an individual. Note that these images were selected to be 1) black and white and 2) a mixture of common and rather specific objects - that match well onto the Boston Naming Exam. Each image is displayed to the subject and subjects would click through until they had named all 25 images. Note that Subjects could advance as soon as they named the object and could stop the timer early on each question.
