Fatal error: Call to protected method JApplicationSite::route() from context ''

Hi there,
I got the below mentioned error.
Fatal error: Call to protected method JApplicationSite::route() from context '' in /home/content/01/11625001/html/index.php on line 36

I have installed joomla 2.5.14 then i have downloaded a theme "Meet-Gavern".
While installing this theme i got the above mentioned error. Then i check the minimum requirements for that theme. they mention joomla 3.x

Now i am unable to get back to my site.
Can anybody help me to fix this issue.

this site is for bugs in the main code of Joomla itself please use
http://forum.joomla.org for end usert support or better still as you have
purchsed this template from Gavern then you should contact them directly.

(Please note your version of joomla is very old. the current release is
2.5.27)
