#Setting up Inkscape There is not much to setting up inkscape, as it is ready to use after the installation. Nevertheless the following might help in creating decals.

Copy the resources/lego.gpl to .inkscape/palettes in your homefolder. Or if you 're on Windows copy it to C:\Program Files\inkscape\share\palettes\ (The exact folder may vary, depending on where you installed inkscape). On the next start of inkscape you can now choose the Lego palette to work with. To change the palette click on the arrow on the right side of the color palette, which is usually at the bottom of the screen.

Use a template that not only uses the correct minifig form, but that is also correctly sized. Since we're working with vector graphics, this will not hinder you at all. In fact this will make it easier to determine what strength of lines you can use. Also if scaled to 100% or viewed in the browser they will be displayed in size to a minifigure.

Use lines thinner than 0.3pt scarcely, because most inkjet printers can't print anything finer than 0.3pt. Because of this setting your standard unit measure to pt has proven beneficial. Of course you can use other units, 0.3pt for example is the same as 0.106mm.
