extract flag in jshintrc

is it possible to include the --extract=always in my ~/.jshintrc file?

I have tried but i just get either parsing errors or it's ignored.

Use case is polymer .html files.

What's the solution for doing that as a module? I don't find anything in https://jshint.com/docs/options/ and trying as predef didn't help.

This would be really helpful for e.g. configuring jshint through the VSCode plugin -- it doesn't seem possible to include --extract-ext in options or config otherwise
