Sandbox (or sandbUX)

IIIF-Viewers Usability Test Sandbox

Introduction

This GitHub repository has been created to store the components which will be used to carry out usability tests on the Universal Viewer and Mirador. A URL will be available from April to June 2017 on http://campus.hesge.ch/iiif-sandbox/index.html

  • The usability tests are conducted on the viewers (Mirador 2.2.0 and The Universal Viewer 2.0.1) and not on the sandbox page(s)
  • A lot of HTML containers have been created in order to have clean URLs
  • People are free to use and redistribute this sandbox

Context

This work is realised in the context of my LIS Bachelor's thesis: The International Image Interoperability Framework (IIIF): raising awareness of the user benefits for scholarly editions. For further information, have a look at the specifications. The remote usability tests will be done with the software Loop11 and the in-person ones with Morae.

Licences from third parties

The Universal Viewer is released under the MIT license and Mirador is an open-source viewer.
