How to use layout: default
for all members of a collection?
#548
-
When copying the collections example from the configuration documentation, I found my pages were not displayed with any theme styling or layout. I then resolved this by putting Is it possible to use the default layout for all members of the collection automatically, or do I need to specify that frontmatter on every single document? Seems silly if I do, considering it is the default layout, after all! 🤷 I tried adding that key to my collection's definition, but it didn't fix the issue: # Define Jekyll collections
collections:
docs:
permalink: "/:collection/:path/"
layout: default # this doesn't work..?
output: true
# Define which collections are used in just-the-docs

Front matter defaults are defined separately, see the Jekyll documentation. One needs to add something like: defaults:

scope:
path: ""
type: "docs"
values:
layout: "default" |
