rax

rax: A command line tool that gives you access to Rackspace services.

Services include : Cloud servers, monitoring, load balancers, dns, mailgun etc
Note: rax is currently not usable and still in development.

Goals

  • Single dependency: curl (no need to install golang, nodejs, pipi etc)
  • Easy and intuitive ways to run commands for Rackspace services.
  • Easily spawn up a session on control panel, dashboard when required.

Installation:

curl https://raw.github.com/jverghese/rax/master/rax > rax
chmod +x rax

Setup your Rackspace credentials into ~/.raxcreds with:
Rackspace username apikey

Note: The credentials are delimited by a new line.

Usage (still in the works)

Auth
rax auth: Uses auth endpoint to create a new auth token and store it in ~/.rax. Also updates the endpoints from the service catalog.

Cloud Servers
rax servers ls: Lists the cloud servers from all regions in your account.
rax servers <serverid> details: Displays server details.
rax servers <serverid> ps: Lists the proccesses of the server if an agent is installed.

Cloud Files
rax files mkdir <container-name>: Creates a container (in the first region).
rax files upload <path> <filename>: Uploads a file to the specified path.
