If the code is in the base directory, I can do this in my mod directory:
git clone git@github.com:cash/Elgg-Event-Calendar.git event_calendar
Otherwise, I need to either copy the code into mod manually or use a symbolic link (and symbolic links do not interact well with include_once() calls on the engine's start.php file).
