Multilingual Translation

Considering a large portion of WordPress Downloads are from non-English speaking, international audiences, it's important that Force Login be available for translation in other languages.

Force Login 4.0 introduced a small amount of English text that may be translated. As of version 4.2, all strings in Force Login use the proper translation functions in WordPress to allow others to create a localization without the need to modify the source code itself.

Translations of Force Login may be contributed to and loaded from translate.wordpress.org. https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/wp-plugins/wp-force-login

WPML Compatible

However, not all users are developers and perhaps not well versed with *.mo/*.po files or poedit which requires a slight learning curve. An alternate solution to translating Force Login is to use the WPML plugin.

WPML stands for WordPress Multilingual and it is a plugin that can make your website multilingual. They currently power over ½ million websites and are the industry standard in allowing you to translate themes, plugins, theme options, posts, pages, widgets, custom post types and everything else on WordPress.

Force Login is fully WPML Compatible.

To get started, you will need the core WPML plugins (WPML Multilingual CMS, WPML String Translation, WPML Translation Management) and any other WPML plugins that may be required.

Guide for installing & activating WPML is available on the WPML getting started guide.

Next go to the WPML “Theme and plugins localization” page and scroll down to the “Strings in the plugins” section. You will find all your plugins listed here.

Check “Force Login” and click “Scan the selected plugins for strings.” WPML will look for all static translatable strings and add them to WPML for translation.

You are now ready for translation.

Load the “String Translations” page (available once you install the String Translations add-on for WPML). Select the list of strings it found in Force Login during the scan with the domain “wp-force-login” and begin translating.
