Freezing Video (PVR) on Firestick 2 (2017)

My Firestick (2nd gen) freezes quickly after starting to watch livetv and also when I try to timeshift through a recording it starts to play for 2 seconds before freezing. When I click to stop the stream it crashes me back to the Firetv interface.

I've discussed on the NextPVR forums and provided logs and they claim it's a KODI\SPMC issue (I see this issue in both). I've put in a link to the logs, can anyone assist in troubleshooting please?

Which from my limited understanding appear to be pointing to a codec problem. I have found some references to the above errors on the forum but no solutions?

Perhaps it is simply an issue on this hardware?

I also have experienced similar Start & Stop / jerky video behavior on my NVIDIA Shield over the last few builds, with HAD HomeRun any only PVR Client. Using SPMC 17.6a2, but this seemed to manifest in the last few 17.4rc versions.
