This issue is currently awaiting triage. This is a Bug Report
Problem:
API versions and feature gates go through the same stages: alpha, beta, GA. So they can easily be confused by users.
Sometimes they play together, and sometimes they are independent.
Proposed Solution:
I don't have a proposal, so I was hoping to brainstorm in this issue. But overall I think it's useful to have a phrase in each of the docs below to disambiguate.
