This PR introduces a general notion of periodicity. It also includes proofs of the "usual" properties of periodic (and antiperiodic) functions.
As suggested by @fpvandoorn in #7107.
Once everything is sorted here, I plan to open PRs with applications of these proofs (e.g. the trig functions) and more facts about periodic functions (e.g. a continuous periodic function is bounded, integral/derivative of a periodic function).
