Ubuntu
Lepton EDA Ubuntu packages are available starting with Ubuntu release 19.10 ("eoan").
Lepton EDA release 1.9.11 is available in Ubuntu 20.10 ("groovy").
Users of Ubuntu 20.04 ("focal") LTS (Long Term Support) are
encouraged to download the Ubuntu 20.10 package lepton-eda_1.9.11
and install
it instead of the release 1.9.10 provided by their distribution.
In case 1.9.10 or earlier release was previously installed and used,
the Guile cache must be cleared by deleting the ~/.cache/guile
directory before running Lepton EDA tools from the new package.
Users of Ubuntu 21.10 ("Impish Indri") may encounter the following error when starting the tools:
ERROR: In procedure %resolve-variable:
Unbound variable: liblepton_init
The workaround for this version is to install corresponding
*-dev
packages for missing libs: libglib2.0-dev
and
libgtk2.0-dev
, or download and install a newer lepton-eda
package directly from the Debian repository. See #873 for more
info on this bug.
Hints on Lepton installation in Ubuntu app under Windows are described here.
