A curious issue. Most easily tested by visiting the first stage of the game and blasting open the six pots immediately in front of Bomberman. Items should flicker shortly before disappearing. Currently however they don't flicker at all, instead remaining completely visible before suddenly despawning or turning invisible with the exception their drop shadows before despawning. This issue also impacts the flickering effect used to display invincibility frames after Bomberman or bosses are harmed (but not killed).

This seems to be a core issue and is present in all rendering methods (Glide64, ParaLLEl, etc).
