I vote no, unless byuu merges something similar into bsnes. This thread tracks it. I'll bump this PR and/or #74 if I see anything relevant.

I vote yes for merging this one and no for snes9x-mainline. *-next already has speedhacks, etc., and it would allow for more testing to see if the change breaks any games.

I don't think byuu is going to make any changes to bsnes because the change doesn't seem to really apply to bsnes. At least it seems that way based on the thread on the libretro forums. Dunno if that indicates a divergence from the actual console behavior or if we actually care about such a divergence in the 'next' fork.

I'm going to make it a core option for both next and mainline snes9x. I will leave the core option on by default, that way users can do free 'bug testing' for us. If nobody ever notices anything, then we know not to worry.
