When attempting to create a CIA of the 3DS menu themes it freezes and I have to hard power off my n3DS.

How long did you wait for it to finish before hard powering off?

Like ten minutes and it never started the first content.

Multi part cias like dlc usually take a minute or two to update the display I think.

I've let it sit for 17 minutes now and it still says "now create the cia..."

In Japan at least, there are hundreds of themes, it really might just be taking a long time.
Either way, see how it works with FunKeyCIA.

30 minutes later, no progress at all.

I asked you to see what happens with FunKeyCIA
You didn't tell me what region's themes, I thought you would have told me since I mentioned the situation for Japan

That is a make_cdn_cia error.
I don't think it is a problem with the amount of content files.
Do you have content 00000127 at all, in the raw folder that FunKeyCIA creates?

What region themes?

I see you had this problem before!
https://gbatemp.net/threads/release-funkycia2-build-cias-from-your-eshop-content-super-easy-and-fast-2-1-fix.376941/page-7#post-5341390
And you didn't get it fixed then?

All I know is that I have successfully built a cia that has 711 content files, so the amount shouldn't be the problem. But if it is the problem with FunKeyCIA and CIAngel, they share basically the same cia creation code - so if like you say they both don't work, that makes sense.

Did you use the newer make_cdn_cia version, with FunKeyCIA? Because actually there is an old version, and basically a rewrite of it. I forget which version CIAngel uses... I think the new version though.

I guess we could debug make_cdn_cia as it builds these themes.

Doesn't crash though, it says there is a missing file.

But you are certain you can see the file that it says is missing?
You said yes before but I want to make sure.

(debugging isn't just for crashed things, it's good to see what is going on)

To share, I tried using Shameless to generate the QR Code for FBI Network Install for the US Region Themes and it errored out.
