Defining the Transformation Between Camera Engineering Coordinates and Camera Data Visualization Coordinates

LSE-349

There are various reasons for wanting to produce a representation of the camera focal plane in a physical coordinate system with the sensors oriented as they reside in the assembled instrument. The first reason is engineering diagrams used for fabrication and assembly of the camera. The second is visualization for quality assessment, data analysis, or science verification purposes. For reasons motivated herein, these two coordinate systems cannot be the same for LSST. This document presents the coordinate transform to be applied in translating between the two coordinate systems: 1) the camera engineering coordinate system and 2) the camera data visualization coordinate system.

To compile this document you need to have set up lsst-texmf see http://lsst-texmf.lsst.io. The bin directory of texmf must be in your path for generateAcronyms.py to be found and work.
