This works well (with Atom among others). A minor inconvenience is that if you have "undecorate half-maximized windows" enabled, then half-maximized windows will become fully maximized upon a gnome-shell restart. |

Apologies as I've disappeared over during the summer. This seems to work surprisingly well on my set up, which is just as well as the root issue seems like a fairly deep rabbit hole. |
