Device: Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Lavender (arm64)
Ubuntu Touch Version: OTA-16 Stable
App version: V0.7

Issue: When pressing "microphone button", recording does not start. (nothing happens). If long press on the button, a small settings rectangle appears (see pictures).

Remarks:

Permission to allow domain to access microphone: Yes.
ACRcloud API: Correctly set.
However, in menu "Security" => apps permission => Microphone: Music recognition app does not appear at all. (see picture)

Trouble shooting (unsuccessful): Reinstall app. Clear cache. Check / uncheck "simulation mode".

This app works fine on Vollaphone + Nexus 5. Thank you for your help

Hi, the issue seems to be mainly, that the app cannot get the system permission, to access the microphone... But I am not sure if this is really app-specific. I suspect, it is the system.
Since it is an html5 app which is using the Morph WebEngine, you could check it with Morph-Browser and any online-recorder website. I assume that this won't work either.

It seems that hmtl5 apps on devices, which already got permission in the past, are still able to use the microphone.
So I have currently no idea, how this could be solved.

This may be related:

Thank you for your feedback.
Indeed, You're right.

I've tried https://online-voice-recorder.com.
I gave the access to the microphone, but website just replied that I did not grant the microphone access.

Here are some screenshots.

I will comment the issue 399.

No, this way other users can see, that it is an already know issue.

I'll just chip in: same issue on One plus One. It used to work like a charm on Fairphone 2, and it doesn't work on Oneplus... I don't see how it would be related to Morph, then, unless the recent update to Qt brought these kind of regressions to Morph; in that case I suspect it doesn't work on Fairphone either

For me, this is solved with ubports/morph-browser#399 in current devel images.
@stanwood77 and @Emphrath, could you please test, if it works for you too?
