How to debug startup problems of MAUD

Occasionally MAUD does not start after double-clicking the application. Besides starting it from a command line, where possible error messages are visible, information about causes for problems can be also found in the log file: Navigate to the $HOME/maud/lib/Logs (for Linux, application support directory for Mac OS, Windows in $HOME/AppData/Local/Maud/Logs) and inspect the file "startingLog" (search for this filename if you have trouble finding the folder). The error message at the end should give information why MAUD does not start.
