Cpanel does not support mariadb version 10.4.

This situation creates several problems during updates.

Is there a possibility for magento 2.4 to support maria db 10.5?

Sounds like a duplicate of #31109, it contains some comments which might help you further and references some Pull Requests which are supposed to fix this, but they got closed unfortunately.

Pretty frustrating that the only feedback we got so far is that they'll do it "eventually". Is that months? Years? Will a new MariaDB version be out by then starting this cycle all over again?

I would like to understand how this can be done considering how widespread cpanel is in the world. If for some reason you don't want to make magento 2.4.1-6 compatible with mariadb 10.5 at least make it compatible with maria db 10.3

@gabrieldagama Is there any progress yet? Do you have an approximate time when MariaDB 10.6 (LTS) will be officially supported? We are currently planning to update from MariaDB 10.3 to 10.6 in summer, but this is kind of a blocker for us. We currently have over 100 Magento customers who are probably not going to be happy about running Magento on a MariaDB installation that is not officially supported and the only way is to manually edit a XML file. I also assume this workaround has to be applied every time you upgrade Magento..

please anyone looking for latest version support
simply install latest versions, php, elk , mariadb

for mariadb you can edit di.xml or use module
see example, you can write your own and deploy to your shop
