• Factions3 is a continuation of the discontinued MassiveCore Factions plugin for Minecraft servers. It is developed by Madus, one of the former Factions developers.

• The plugin lets players group themselves into Factions. They claim their land and build their base. Thus Factions serves as an anti-griefing system. You can control your players with ranks and fine-grained permissions to decide who can do what.

• Download the plugin here

Setup

1. Stop the server.
2. Backup your files at SERVER/mstore/ .
3. Put MassiveCore.jar and Factions.jar in the SERVER/plugins folder. (MassiveCore.jar is bundled in the download).
4. Start the server.
5. The database should update itself now to work with Factions3, no work should be done on your part. If it does not work, please create a bug report so that we can look into the issue further.
6. Configure Factions as you like (can be done without restarting or reloading the server).

Configuration

• Open SERVER/mstore/factions_mconf/instance.json and change whatever you would like, to configure Factions.
• Open SERVER/mstore/massivecore_mconf/instance.json and change whatever you would like, to configure MassiveCore.

• There is a lot of work that is being done and that can be done to improve the plugin, and as any software project it will have some bugs. If you have a feature request or a bug report, please submit that here, and we will take a look at it.
