we need a transform that returns only the content part of the envelope.

Should work on /v1/documents?uri=/blah.xml&transform=content-only and something like: /v1/search?q=666-67-2661&view=none&transform=content-only

For /v1/search, you might need to send multipart/mixed as a header see http://docs.marklogic.com/REST/GET/v1/search
