How to use oauth without clientId / secret? #7
-
I'm working on Mastodon mobile app which means users can connect to any mastodon instance. These instances won't have clientId and secrets available. How to I use the OAuth login for these types of connections? |

Hi @MikeHuntington , Thanks for the feedback. And I feel this is a very meaningful topic. I'm also in the process of researching the Mastodon API, but I know there are endpoints within the Mastodon API to programmatically create an app for a particular instance. The client ID and client secret of the app created with this endpoint will be returned as a response. This is not yet implemented in the mastodon API wrapper library I'm developing, but I'm about to get serious about developing it :) See following issue: And official reference: |
