In #2427 (comment), @hrj pointed out that we can use podman to avoid asking for super user permission in the install script.

Avoiding superuser permissions seems like a great idea! We should investigate and update the script if podman will work for our needs.

Based on prior discussions we've been having regarding installation, I don't think we're planning to modify the install script to use podman.

#2783 should take care of running the docker image directly and users would be able to be use podman if they want to. It's unreleated to this issue, since this one explicitly mentions modifying the install script.
