Use name that gitter recognizes in M->G

When I reply to someone using Riot, their username becomes: RealFirst RealLast (Gitter): <msg>, preferably this would be @ in order to actually notify the user.

This is partially coverered by #15 but I was interested in this specific aspect (which has less complexity perhaps)

I wanted to move away from gitter in favor of riot/matrix, as the mobile gitter app does not notify me and has a bad UX in general.

Though not beeing able to mention @-mention people and highlight them is quite a show stopper… Is there a workaround at least?
