Mmm, I feel like it's a bad sign if we're having to wait for cypress's keypresses. It should guarantee they've all been delivered by the time it runs the next line, surely? Do we have a debounce timer in the search maybe? https://github.com/matrix-org/matrix-react-sdk/blob/develop/src/hooks/spotlight/useDebouncedCallback.ts maybe? In which case I feel like waiting for the right dom element to appear would be the better fix? (which is what the user would be doing).
Yeah, obviously I hate this :-) I added the waits because it looked to me like the code was already waiting for the DOM element to appear: https://github.com/matrix-org/matrix-react-sdk/blob/develop/cypress/e2e/spotlight/spotlight.spec.ts#L74 |
