This (or at least audio receiving and playback) was apparently worked on in #7188, but for some reason that got closed.

@DonLakeFlyer is audio support intentionally a no-go, or was it just that specific PR that was no longer applicable after some other changes had occurred?

That was closed as stale since nobody was still working on it. I don't know much about audio. Nor would I assume there is some reason why it shouldn't be feasible.
