This release further improves the FM radio for the 65-76 MHz band. It only affects igneous and metamorphic builds.

Breaking changes

• The custom FM region names are hard-coded rather than having translations depending on the configured language. These may or may not make sense in languages other than English.

Features

• 3 new FM regions make available every combination of step (.05 or .1 MHz) and emphasis (50 or 75 μS) supported by the RDA5802 chip for the 65-76 MHz band. This makes 4 "other" FM regions, and their names are now explicit:
  • 65-76 MHz, .05 MHz step, 50 µS emphasis
  • 65-76 MHz, .05 MHz step, 75 µS emphasis
  • 65-76 MHz, .1 MHz step, 50 µS emphasis
  • 65-76 MHz, .1 MHz step, 75 µS emphasis

v3.15-2

This build redirects paths to the microSD card and adds some usability improvements to the FM radio.

Breaking changes

• All variants:
  • Redirect all paths to the microSD card in order to save internal flash chip from wearing out.
    • This means that these builds must be booted from the microSD card, and you cannot use the device without the microSD card inserted.
    • See the main README for more details.

Features

• igneous and metamorphic:
  • FM radio no longer prompts to auto-scan when there are no presets.
    • This prompt can be annoying if you only want to use "Scan" mode and never make any presets.
    • Auto-scan is still available in the FM radio menu.
  • FM radio now defaults to "Scan" mode at all times.
    • Previously, FM radio defaulted to "Preset" mode when there are presets and the current frequency corresponds to one of the presets.
    • This also made it harder to use "Scan" mode at times.
  • You will now be prompted to save presets after clearing or deleting the last preset.
    • Previously, there was no way to clear FM presets permanently without editing the preset file by hand.
    • You still cannot save a new preset file when there are no presets to save. This wouldn't make any sense, since it would just create a new empty file.
• All variants:
  • Added meyertime to the credits.

Initial release

• Based on the latest stable version of Rockbox: 3.15
• Custom keymap for Sansa Fuze that avoids the scroll wheel as much as is practical. Applies to sedimentary and metamorphic builds.
• The "Other" FM region is changed to 65-76 MHz. This only works for devices with the RDA5802 FM chip. Applies to igneous and metamorphic builds.
• Only tested with Sansa Fuze.
• Updated release build process so that these can all be managed from one branch.
• Added README documenting this fork and specifics about the customizations.
